Don Goodwin has been helping people with their finances for more than 30 years. He started out as a tax preparer and has progressed into an IRS Enrolled Agent, Accountant, and Life Insurance & Financial Investment Consultant.
Don Goodwin is a full time minister. He is currently the Pastor of Beech Creek Assembly of God in Livingston, Texas. He and his family moved to Livingston in 1997 to pastor the church. Previously they had pastored Faith Assembly of God in Vidor, Texas 12 years. He also serves on the sectional committee of the Lufkin Section Assemblies of God as Secretary/Treasurer.
He was born in Pampa, Texas. Shortly after his family moved to Lubbock where he stayed until he graduated from High School. Don's family then moved to Mesquite, Texas, where his father pastored Calvary Temple Assembly of God and Don became the youth pastor and later the associate pastor. He also started a Christian Academy in Mesquite that still exhists today.
He began college in the Dallas area. After moving to the Beaumont area in 1997, he finished there, graduating from Lamar University.
Don & his wife, Lori, were married in 1982 and have 3 children, Blake, Amy, & Dake. All of the children are actively involved in ministry at
Beech Creek Assembly of God. Blake is an Occupational Therapy Assistant. He is also involved in music ministry and the media ministry at
Beech Creek Assembly of God. Amy and her husband, Lucas Swinnea, are youth pastors at
Beech Creek Assembly of God. They are also involved in missions work to Mexico. Lucas is a roofer and working towards getting the credentials he needs to work with Don in meeting insurance & tax preparation needs for clients. Amy teaches K - 1st at
Eastside Christian School ; she also has her tax preparers certification and assists Don with tax preparation. Dake is attending college with plans to go into the nursing field. He plays the drums and works in children's ministry at church.
DATA PLU$ is a vital part of Don's ministry. He is very thankful to be able to help many ministers and churches with financial situations that arise. It is very easy for ministers to fall into major problems with the IRS if they do not have the correct ministry helps in place. This is one of Don's areas of expertise.
Another area where he had been able to help many is: financial investing and retirement planning. He has spent much time finding
safe and
secure areas of investment that offer the greatest profits. In the past year many have suffered greatly because of the economical crisis of our nation. He has helped his clients in finding new and safe places to "
protect their profits."
Don enjoys being with family and friends. He especially likes to travel and take yearly vacations to new places. In 2007, he and Lori went to Hawaii for their 25th wedding anniversary. It was a wonderful experience.
